Editorial
Under this major title, totally 88 regional reports, a generic list of the pterygot insects and a bibliographical evaluation are published in this issue of the Priamus (supplement). The Project Entomofauna of the World (except Lepidoptera) has been carrying out by the researchers of the Cesa for some years. The temporary results of the reports submitted here are based upon not only the literary data, but also the field results of the authors expeditions to several states realized in earlier decades. In each report submitted, faunistical, taxonomical and nomenclatural information are revised as far as possible, updated accordingly, with footnotes. References to the faunal information of some states published in recent years are also mentioned in the related reports. The following states are newly added to the research program on the pterygot fauna within the frame of entomofaunal surveys of the Cesa Austria, Bulgaria, Creta, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Romania, Spain, Sweden and Ukraine in Europe; Afghanistan, China, Cyprus, Israel, India, Iraq, Jordan, Japan, Kazachstan, Kirgizistan, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Tadjikistan, Turkmenistan, Taiwan, Uighur Ili, Uzbekistan, and Yemen in Asia; Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, Surinam, United States, and Venezuela in America. Recording the faunal data of these states mentioned above are very at the beginning. Comparatively more advanced faunal lists belong to Turkey and some Middle East countries in Asia. Concerning the order Lepidoptera, results of the Project Lepidoptera of the Old World (LOW), will be published in the next issue of this serial. Finally, this not an ordinary but a planned, long-termed study. If it is needed, the Cesa projects with their published reports should be compared by the readers with the equivalent attempts only.
