In addition to warning chapters on debt, partners, and "leaving business to servants", Defoe writes on the personal choices of the successful business person - the perils of expensive living, the value of diligence and "application", and even the dangers of marrying too soon. Defoe provides an excellent textbook of business strategy and negotiating practices that are still cogent nowadays. This book is highly recommended for young people entering the business world.
