Gwatkin Henry Melvill
Reverend Henry Melvill Gwatkin (30 July 1844–14 November 1916) was an English theologian and church historian. He was born at Barrow-on-Soar, Leicestershire. He was educated at St. John's College, Cambridge.[1] He became Dixie Professor of Ecclesiastical History of the University of Cambridge in 1891, retiring in 1912.
