Head and tail pieces, initials Binding, c. 1: coarse gray paper. Title written downwards on spine: DE' ROSSI DESCRIZIONE. / FIRENZE 1585. Copy 2: modern marbled paper, quarter vellum. Author, brief title and date written upwards on spine in black ink. Bookplate centered on front pastedown with monogram made up of V, d, G Phrase inked out in last line of leaf 6r in both copies. In c. 1 a substitute has been written beneath in pencil
