response to a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) (MACTEC 2005) that proposes to remove contaminated materials from the Building 207/231 Area. This document (1) briefly describes the nature and scope of the project; (2) provides background information about the surface and subsurface deposits in the
project area; (3) reviews the pre-field logistical issues; (4) discusses the general field approach; and (5) describes the specific field survey methods and sampling techniques.
