Video at the Internet Archive -- An overview on uploading, archiving, and accessing videos.
This talk will get people familiar with video at archive.org. The Internet Archive is an opensource, accredited digital library that focuses on digital preservation of books, videos, and audio. We archive over 250,000 videos and offer many benefits compared to other video upload services.
All of our content is open and public and we provide public interfaces/APIs to media files, metadata, and search results. We store videos in their originally uploaded format as well as make user-accessible formats (for example, h.264 MPEG-4 and Ogg Theora formats). We will show demos (including mashups of clips from longer videos), APIs (interfaces), and joint projects with
Wikimedia and
Metavid.

During the Demos, I visited the following urls:

Mashup video player example (uses clips from archive.org videos):

I did a quick video using my Mac's "PhotoBooth" app to create a short quicktime movie, uploaded it to the archive, showed the
/details/ page and the derivatives.
