This essay was originally created as a baccalaureate thesis for the completion of my undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. At the same time I was completing the degree, I was also beginning my training in ministry at a local seminary. I was allowed by my undergraduate advisor to write something that I could use in my ministerial training. After completion and defense of the thesis, and while I was interning as an assistant minister at various Unity Churches in the Detroit area I created a 6 week class entitled "Knowing God, Knowing Ourselves & Knowing Each Other," based on this work. The class was immensly successful and I have taught it in Florida, Michigan and Missouri. I am in the process of re-writing this thesis as a full length book incorporating material gleaned in the 6 years of teaching classes.
