Protecting the Force: Lessons from Fort Hood
The unclassified and public version of the report of the U.S. Department of Defense Independent Review Panel (co-chaired by Hon. Togo D. West, Jr. and ADM Vern Clark, ret.) on issues related to the tragic mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, on November 5, 2009. Commissioned by Secretary Robert M. Gates, the report was completed in 45 days and was the catalyst for additional, ongoing, follow-on activity by related entities.
