RM_Ballantyne_The_Prairie_Chief

Book cover
To see the transcribed text with images (if possible) use the FB2 version. This book is set in the prairies of North America, where it describes the struggle between the white settlers, and the indigenous Blackfoot Indians. Both sides are described with equal charm and delicacy. Woven into the tale are the efforts of the Christian missionaries to convert the red tribes. This is a charming tale, and you will enjoy it for its pleasant atmosphere. The author must have enjoyed writing it, too. There are eleven pictures in this book, some of which are rather dark and blurry, while the remainder are quite good. It would have been better to have had just the four best images, as Ballantyne does for most of his books. First published 1886.
