The emblems, relating to the dedicatees of the sonnets in the first section, are not illustrated but are described, with mottos and explanations Heraldic t.p. ill. in strapwork cartouche. It incorporates the d'Este crowned eagle (for Alessandro d'Este, to whom the work is dedicated), together with a shield with a bear and the initials B.P. Portrait bust on t.p. verso (Alessandro?). Decorated initials Signatures: A-R Errata, last leaf Praz, M. Studies in 17th cent. imagery (2nd ed.) Binding: old limp vellum. Edges of spine of text block reinforced with vellum MS waste. Remains of 2 pairs of ties at foredge. Written at head of spine: Berna / dino. Written on foot of text block: Rime. Dj. Perciualo Inscription in a modern hand on front free endpaper recto: a Pino il Peccatore, dal suo compadre arciputtaniere, Odoardo di Jacopo. At head of title is an owner's inscription dated 1682 Praz, M. Studies in 17th cent. imagery (2nd ed.)
