Run to Earth belongs to the pen of Mary Elizabeth Braddon (1835 - 1915) who is a recognized and prolific author, novelist, poet and a master of short stories who lived and worked in the Victorian epoch. In general, she created and published about 75 novels. Mary Elizabeth Braddon is probably best known for her amazing novel Lady Audley's Secret but Run to Earth deserves attention as well. The plot of the book is devoted to the life of a cad who wants to take possession of the family fortune. Not only the main character but also other heroes of the book are splendid and well drawn.
