Sri Krishna and Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu both taught Bhakti yoga, the spiritual practice of connecting with God through devotional service to Him. Based on Their teachings, in 1966 A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, referred to as Srila Prabhupada, founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in New York City.

Srila Prabhupada and his disciples popularized the chanting of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra in the 1960s and 1970s, and it spread to countries around the globe. Though the International Society for Krishna Consciousness is the legal name for the movement Prabhupada started, most people know it as the Hare Krishna movement.

On the Way to Krsna
Every one of us is searching after happiness, but we do not know what real happiness is. We see so much advertised about happiness, but practically speaking we see so few happy people. This is because so few people know that the platform of real happiness is beyond temporary things. It is this real happiness that is described in Bhagavad-gita by Lord Krishna to Arjuna.

Sri Caitanya-caritamrta was written by Krishnadasa Kaviraja Goswami. This book contains the unabridged original Bengali text, Roman transliterations, synonyms, translation and elaborate purports by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. This is the definitive history and biography of Sri Krishna Caitanya. Here is a description of Sri Caitanya's life and teachings.

Sri Caitanya pioneered a great social and spiritual movement in India over five hundred years ago, which today continues to spread its profound influence worldwide. While man in the West was exploring outward in the physical universe, in India Sri Krishna Caitanya was exploring inward, exhibiting unparalleled spiritual potency, and discovering the truths of consciousness and transcendental reality. As a young boy he overwhelmed astounded scholars, establishing his own school at the age of sixteen. Within his lifetime, Sri Caitanya transformed India in four respects: philosophically, by defeating the greatest philosophers of his day; socially, by opposing the blindly rigid caste system; politically, by organizing India's first civil disobedience movement against repression by the Mohammedan government; and spiritually, by freely distributing nonsectarian love of God. Sri Caitanya-caritamrta presents Sri Caitanya as the Golden Avatar, the incarnation of Krishna in this age in the form of His devotee.

Sri Isopanishad
We rebel at modern science's contention that we can be analyzed into lifeless laws and particles. We feel that personality is the solid foundation and unifying principle of our existence. That intuition is correct, says the Vedic philosophy of ancient India, which loudly proclaims the primacy of personality in every sphere of life and knowledge. And the essential Vedic teachings on the universal nature of personality are summarized in Sri Isopanisad, the foremost of the 108 Upanisads.

From time to time in order to preach the Lord's doctrine and redeem the fallen souls from the dark well of material existence . Among those devotees, Sri Srimad B.V. Puri Goswami, the Founder President and Acharya of Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mission, is one of the great disciples of the world spiritual master 108 Sri Srimad Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhupad. He always engages himself in the services of Sri Varsabhanavi devi as if he is Her maid-servant.

Guru and Atma Nivedan
THE Advent of Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu into this world is a most marked event even to great celestials. Gods like Brahma, Siva, etc. and sages of repute like Sanak, Sanandan, Sanatan, Sanatkumar, etc. greedy of tasting the highest and rarest Transcendental Bliss are born in the material world and having been blessed with the Divine Name, they dance, sing and lose themselves on the wavelets of Divine Bliss. Exalted devotees like Narada, Prahlada, etc. are no exception. Assuming human forms, they too are drinking the ambrosia flowing from the never-ending fountain of the Transcendental Name. Lakshmi and other consorts of Sri Vishnu too, were born in this mortal world in human forms, tempted by the same desire and are having a taste of it. What to speak of all other persons ? Sri Krishna Himself is enjoying the sweetness of His Name ! As such, why wonder at the request of Mayadevi ?

Nam Bhajan
Prem alone is the purpose of the life of Jivas. Bhava (soul's feeling) develops into Prem. Turning their face towards Krishna, the more Jivas progress, the more do they approach the temple of Prem. Thus in considering the rights of Prem, we meet at the out-set with two sorts of circumstances-one is an intense longing for the unattained Prem, the other is the stage when the pedestal of Prem is already reached. There is no higher stage beyond the latter one- an incessant Rasa, is an undivided unique tatwa of that region. Devotees with utter craving for Prem who are still on the way to it, are again divided into two classes according to their love of seclusion or bustle-the one are called Viviktanandis who are close followers of approved usages, the other are known as Gosthyanandis and are ever happy in preaching. Deep meditation on Godhead is the discipline of Premi-Bhaktas and glorifying or singing the Name of Krishna is their preaching.

Rai Ramananda
In this world we can see all around that every body is busily engaged in search of and running amuck to obtain 'Ananda' or bliss. Nobody wants to die, nobody is willing to suffer pain. In the present day religion which is considered by most of the people as a third necessity in life's struggle, is day by day disowned, if not abandoned, on the plea that they have no time to think about religion when every minute of life requires to be devoted for extinguishing the blazing flame of the stomach. Religion, according to them, is a subject which is to be believed and discussed by only certain classes of people who have not much work or do not require to toil for earning bread and butter. But we observe that people who have no difficulties nor worries are equally averse towards religion and God. They say that they have also no time to think about religion. So, it is not true that the opulent are religious, and it is a known fact that neither poverty nor opulence are the causes of becoming true religious or God-believing.

Through learning one should have growing attachment to the Lotus Feet of the Supreme Lord Krishna. It is real Para Vidya. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu
Sri Krishna Chaitanya or Gauranga Mahaprabhu made His appearance at Sridham Mayapur, on the banks of Bhagirathi river in the district of Nadia, Bengal State, on the evening of Phalguna Purnima is 1407 Sakabda (1486 A.D.), during Lunar eclipse, while according to tradition, the devotees were bathing in the Ganga chanting Sri Harinam, loudly. Sri Chaitanya was born of Sri Jagannath Misra, a Great Sanskrit Scholar and Srimati Sachidevi and they named Him, Nimai, as he was born under a neem tree. In giving Him that name they were, of course, a bit superstitious too that the bitterness of the tree could keep away the Death God who had previously snatched away eight of their children from their bosom. But the neighbouring ladies called Him Gauranga because of His handsome and gold-like glittering complexion, while His grand father, Nilambar Chakravarthy studying His horoscope, named Him Viswambhara.

Sri Krishna
The Great Absolute should predominate over the crippled forms of infinitesimal absolutes who may appear at the outset as illustrations of non-absolute If the synthetic process of all isolated entities does not go one Undeviated Object of the Absolute, it would prove to be a chaotic emporium of unassimilating difference ; so our mentalities require rectification to arrange their order in a particular line. One of our friendly co-sharers should come forward to explain before us the nature of the course that should be adopted for our methodic comprehension of the irregularities in one line. This unparalleled mercy of the One Friend and His associates is to regulate the disorderly conduct of the body and the mind. The rhetorical principle of the predominating the predominating functions in their bases of activities could give us the result of one of the four ingredients that follow when we are relieved of the worldly deformed conceptions in the pure spontaneity of a defined nature of eternal relationship that exists between the Absolute and the significatory aspects of the internal parts of the Absolute.

Vaishnavism Real and Apparent
The word 'Vaishnavism' indicates the normal, eternal and natural condition, functions and devotional characteristics of all individual souls in relation to Vishnu, the Supreme, the All-pervading Soul. But such an unnatural, unpleasant and regrettable sense has been attributed to the word as to naturally make one understand by the word, Vaishnava (literally a pure and selfless worshipper of Vishnu), a human form with twelve peculiar signs (Tilak) and dress on, worshipping many gods under the garb of a particular God and hating another human form who marks himself with different signs, puts on a different dress and worships a different God in a different way as is the case with the words 'Shaiva', 'Shakta', 'Ganapatya', 'Jaina', 'Buddhist', 'Mohammedan', 'Christian' etc.

Arcana Dipika
The title of this book, Arcana Dipika, means "the lamp that illuminates archana." The term arcana signifies honour or worship. As one of the nava-laksana, the nine processes of devotional service, it refers to worshipping the Deity form of the Lord. Arcana Dipika teaches us how this service is performed and how to please the Lord through this process of worship. By the mercy of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu; the Six Gosvamis and other contemporary followers of Sriman Mahaprabhu; and more recently Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Svami Maharaja the process of Deity worship, which is the authentic method of approaching Sri Bhagavan, has been successfully introduced to the entire world.

Sri Bhajana Rahasya
Sri Bhajana-rahasya is compiled by Srimad Bhaktivinoda Thakura Mahasaya. He has collected into the form of a book several confidential hints from his own method of bhajana to guide sincere sadhakas who are performing bhajana under his direction. Some years ago, this destitute person observed him performing bhajana. He was constantly reciting and relishing verses such as the ones in this book, thus becoming overwhelmed with bhagavat-prema. For sadhakas whose faith is on the neophyte platform, the system of arcana is provided. Many people are unable to understand the distinction between arcana and bhajana and therefore use the word bhajana to refer to arcana. One can practise bhajana by performing the nine kinds of devotion, navadha-bhakti. Because arcana is included within navadha-bhakti, it is also considered a part of bhajana. There is a difference between complete bhajana and partial bhajana. Arcana means to worship the deity with awe and reverence; that is, with knowledge of the Lord's opulence and by observing etiquette. It is also arcana to serve Bhagavan with various paraphernalia according to rules and regulations and with the mundane conception of identifying oneself with the material body. In visrambha-seva, service rendered with intimacy and a sense of possessiveness, the hot rays of awe and reverence are still apparent to a small degree, but no one can refuse the excellent sweetness of its cool, pleasant moonbeams. A brief arcana-paddhati has been added as an appendix to this book.

Sri Bhakti-rasayana
In the final chapter of Sri Brhad-bhagavatamrta, after the story of Gopa-kumara has been completed (see Going Beyond Vaikuntha), Sanatana Goswami has quoted verses from the tenth canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam which Pariksit Maharaja spoke to his mother Uttara. They are verses of very beautiful poetry which stimulate the sentiment of bhakti. Stringing these verses together, Sanatana Goswami has composed a necklace for the benefit of the sadhakas of this world, and when sadhakas keep these verses in their hearts, it is as if they are wearing this necklace around their necks. And if while taking Harinama they sometimes call out these verses, it will increase the ananda in their chanting. This compilation of verses is known as bhakti-rasayana, or the nectar-tonic of bhakti-rasa. Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja.
