According to opinions of many people, Jay Gatsby is Fitzgerald’s best book. This novel represents a common American belief in the possibility of redefining oneself and introducing this new “ego” to the world in a way that he world will accept that. Young Nick Carraway was always envious of his neighbor Gatsby’s wealth. To his delight he managed to get involved into this luxurious life full of entertainment and joy. But things were not that wonderful as they seemed to be.
