The Paradoxes of Zeno: the cart is still there

Book cover
Zeno of Elea's arguments against a motion are reviewed in this paper. The paradoxes of Dichotomy, Achilles, Stadium and Arrow are serially discussed. A principal difference between potentially infinite and actually infinite is revealed. It is shown that so-called "solutions" of Zeno's arguments are untenable. In addition, this paper contains inference that the problem of the description of a motion exists until now. That is why the way out of Zeno's paradoxes requires revising many of our concepts to escape the contradictions discovered by Eleatic philosopher's fruitful arguments.
