Unknown Mexico, Volume 1 (of 2)

Book cover
Having spent a number of years in Mexico, Carl Sofus Lumholtz (1851 – 1922), a Norwegian explorer and ethnographer, conducted several expeditions from 1890 through to 1910. It resulted later in his two-volume work, which offers an evocative look at peoples of northwestern Mexico, including the Cora, Tepehuán, and Pima Bajo; at the artifacts from the ancient shaft tomb and the Tarascan cultures.
