Includes bibliographical references (p. 26) Job progress report ; Fish population estimates on Rock Creek showed rainbow and brown trout equally abundant near the mouth while at a station nearly 15 miles upstream a predominately rainbow and Dolly Varden trout population was found. Whitefish was the dominant game-fish species at the upstream station. A combination of trout and whitefish estimates at the upstream station found 625 gamefish per 1000 feet of stream. A 24-hour oxygen sag showed Rock Creek having a favorable influence on the percent of oxygen saturation in the Clark Fork River. Eight fish were captured in the section of the Clark Fork below the Warm Springs settling ponds. Previous sampling in 1967 and 1969 found no fish in this area. Winter dissolved O₂ determinations at Georgetown Lake showed a high reading of 8.0 ppm three feet below the surface at four stations in March, 1972. The highest reading occurring below 8 feet was 2.4 ppm. Several other fish population estimates on streams and gill netting surveys on lakes are presented and management recommendations made
