The author of these stories James Willard Schultz was born in a rich family in the state of New York in 1859. He was married to a Blackfoot woman and got interested in the traditions of this tribe. As Schultz notices himself, he was accepted as a member of the tribe and found a number of friends there. Most of these fascinating stories were told by the Blackfoot people in the evening when they were sitting around the fire.
