This book narrates us about the so called struggle between a wealthy South Carolina farmer, who becomes a preacher with great influence on people in Maryland and a prist in Rhoad Island – Dr. Francis Wayland. They had different views on the basis of slavery. Due to their geographical position they would suppose to be on the totally opposite sides of the question. The author nevertheless notes that there was not so much difference between them actually. It would be rather necessary to mention that Dr. Wayland was a student of Moses Stuart.
So the one who will read it will make his own opinion on this question, of cause.
