It was only a few years ago, that business men ridiculed the idea of using in business anything that was taken from the writings of others. It was not denied that knowledge of management would be of great value, but it was believed that one could learn to manage only by going out and watching others manage. Recently, it was discovered that good management is founded on laws, practices, and methods which may be expressed in simple language, and that their study is of great assistance to business men in making their management more efficient.
