The colt, at his birth, has eight colfs grinders, four above, and four below; that is, two above and two below, on each side of his mouth. At a month old he has four more colt's grinders, two above and two below; that is, one more above and one more below, on each side of his mouth. These are subsequently shed, in the same order as the nippers.
