Book cover
John H. Patterson served as a colonel for the British Army at the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1898 he was sent to the territory of modern Kenya to supervise the building of railway bridge over the Tsavo River. There he encounters a number of adventures. For example, lions attack the settlement of workers and eat them. Patterson wants to do somethings about it and takes different measures. However, nothing helps and the construction of the bridge has to be stopped because the workers get reall scared and believe that lions are dark spirits who are hunting them for punishing because they build the bridge. And Patterson takes the only right decision: to hunt lions and kill them before lions eat people. This book is true memories about th adventures in Africa, carrying away and really fascinating.
