Fil and Filippa
John Stuart Thomson (1869 Ä 1950) was author of China Revolutionized, The Chinese, Bud and Bamboo, and Fil and Filippa. Fil and Filippa: Story of Child Life in the Philippines is written for grades 5th through 7th. It tells of the customs and home life of a child from the Philippines. The story begins with the narrator reaching the Philippines and meeting two children. They talk about the history of the islands and how their country got its name. The story is full of historical and cultural information.
