The Fifth Wheel
The Fifth Wheel is a story describing the live and development of Ruth Vars. At the beginning we see her as a young and immature girl who is searching for a wealthy husband believing that it will bring her a true happiness. But under the pressure of her surrounding and events in her life she becomes a strong woman with high moral principles who is ready to work herself and who is not waiting for a rich man anymore. While it seems natural for our modern society, for the time when it was published (1916) the plot was truly innovative. It is constructed in the form of a dialogue and will definitely make a huge impression on readers.
